Great to be at Pullman’s National Lentil Festival!
Eleanor and I started Saturday early with the Tase T. Lentil 5K fun run down through the beautiful WSU campus, and then joined the festival parade with the children, my mom Dee and great volunteers. Thanks to everyone who helped me to 437 “high-fives” along the parade route! Washington state is one of the top US producers of lentils and it was great to celebrate our farmers and community.

Parading and Sign-Waving
We had great fun last weekend at Davenport Pioneer Days! All the children were with us (a rare weekend without sports or scout camps!) - along with fantastic volunteers. Thank you for all the smiles and the high fives! We’ve had volunteers out waving signs in Spokane every weekday. Meeting with veterans & first responders
Earlier this week I appreciated meeting with veterans and first responders in Deer Park. I was especially honored to receive a “Flag Star” from the local vet support group. Later in the day I attended a meeting in Northport about the Upper Columbia River. The future of the Columbia River - and the dams that provide energy and agricultural transportation - are very important issues for our 5th District.

Celebrating our freedoms with Spokane’s Vietnamese community
On Saturday we joined Michael and Mary Nguyen and the Vietnamese-American Friendship Association (plus Filipino Association friends) for a fantastic lunch and celebration of America. It is wonderful to see the love that many of our Vietnamese friends have for our nation, and how deeply they appreciate our freedoms having escaped from communism - and also to honor our veterans who served in Vietnam.

Over these past few days we also travelled to Newport, Deer Park, Chewelah and Colville for more meet and greets over lemonade. Everywhere I’m hearing from voters who share my concerns about our open borders, the lawlessness and flood of fentanyl - as well as the growth in our federal government and our spiraling national debt. Sprague, Lyon’s Ferry and Walla Walla
Early last week I enjoyed meeting with the Mayor and city council members of Sprague and hearing about local priorities. That same day I visited the Lyon’s Ferry Fish hatchery to learn about the nearly seven million fish that are raised and released to support salmon runs and other fish species in our northwest rivers, streams and lakes. We also stopped in Walla Walla to visit with voters over ice cream and lemonade, and to meet with members of the County GOP.

Fun at Fairchild Air Force Base
Eleanor and I had a great time with the family at the SkyFest Air Show at Fairchild Air Force Base! One real highlight was when USAF Academy Wings of Blue cadet Annika spent some moments with our 10 year old daughter Victoria after parachuting onto base. It’s so great for our children to have role models to look up to (both figuratively and literally!) We love the amazing men and women of our United States Air Force.

Parades, Doorbelling & Monster Trucks
We were grateful to have so many volunteers help us with parades in Lacrosse and Newport. We also once again had a great time on Sunday knocking on doors and earning votes. However, if you asked the kids, the real highlight of Sunday afternoon was taking a break from campaigning to attend the Monster Truck show in Spokane. I think we can all agree that in this time of political divisiveness, America needs more members of Congress who like Monster Trucks ;)

We started last Saturday in Medical Lake for the Founders Day parade. The progress made since the devastating Gray Road fire is a testament to the leadership and positivity of many Medical Lake community members including Mayor Terri Cooper. Our Snake River dams are so important
