Our campaign team was at Odessa Deutschesfest on Saturday, enjoying the fun atmosphere of this annual festival celebrating Odessa’s heritage. We also had a great time joining the Valleyfest festivities in Spokane Valley. On Sunday I ran with our daughter Victoria in The Boulevard Race in Spokane, a fantastic community event to support cancer patients. I had a great trip to Washington DC to meet and talk strategy with House Republican leadership. Spirits were very high with strong polling showing House Republicans keeping the majority and Donald Trump expected to win the White House.   However, there are concerns that Harris replacing Biden has sent the Democrat base’s enthusiasm and fundraising skyrocketing. Our campaign had a busy weekend all over Eastern Washington. Eleanor and I had a great time at the Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days, meeting people at the fairgrounds and seeing the Rodeo. We really enjoyed the parade with this fantastic float put together by the Franklin and Walla Walla County Republican parties supporting many of our great candidates. I enjoyed meeting with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson over the weekend and talking strategy with him about how we advance conservative policies in the first 100 days of the next Congress.

Eleanor and I started Saturday early with the Tase T. Lentil 5K fun run down through the beautiful WSU campus, and then joined the festival parade with the children, my mom Dee and great volunteers. Thanks to everyone who helped me to 437 “high-fives” along the parade route! Washington state is one of the top US producers of lentils and it was great to celebrate our farmers and community.

I’m honored that our campaign for Congress has been endorsed by my former Senate colleague Brian Dansel and by Representative Jacquelin Maycumber. Both are hardworking public servants that impressed a lot of folks on the campaign trail. It’s important that Republicans unify if we are to win elections this November. Thank you Brian and Jacquelin!
