I had a great trip to Washington DC to meet and talk strategy with House Republican leadership.
Spirits were very high with strong polling showing House Republicans keeping the majority and Donald Trump expected to win the White House.
However, there are concerns that Harris replacing Biden has sent the Democrat base’s enthusiasm and fundraising skyrocketing. Currently, Democrat fundraising is outpacing Republicans by a 2 to 1 margin. The bottom line is that a sweeping victory for Republicans is more than possible if Republican donors step up and match the surging Democrats.
…and with Republican Leadership back home
It was great to meet with GOP leadership from the 12 counties that comprise the 5th Congressional District on Saturday.
I’m grateful for the extensive grassroots work of our County Parties across the district and for the PCOs who step forward to run for election and help candidates. I always say that winning in politics is a “team sport” and we certainly have a great team here in Eastern Washington.
Thank you to all the party officials who gave up their time to talk policy and strategy.
